A better measurement starts with a better routine.

1. Sit quietly. Avoid eating, smoking, or exercise immediately before measuring. Rest for about 10 minutes before taking a reading; allow about 30 minutes after intensive exercise.

2. Position the cuff. Place the cuff on your bare upper arm, approximately 2–3 cm above the elbow. Keep it snug enough to allow about one finger underneath.

3. Stay still. Sit with your back supported and your arm at heart level. Press Start, and avoid moving or talking until the measurement is complete.

This is an excellent upper-arm BP monitor at a very good price. It appears to be accurate and it's useful that it has a USB socket - better than having to insert batteries, although these can be used if you wish. I also like the way that it talks to you!
